A 24-year-old welder, Kwame Adjei, has been sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment with onerous labor for theft.
He pleaded responsible when he appeared earlier than the Jasikan Circuit Court docket on June 27 and was convicted on his personal plea.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Seth Vincent Kpodo, prosecuting, informed the court docket presided over by Mar Michael Johnson Abbey that the complainant was a part-time okada rider residing at Dain-Konta within the Republic of Togo.

The complainant rapidly stopped and used his motorcycle’s distant management to lock the engine and fled to security.
The convict then robbed the complainant of his motorcycle and pushed it away. On the identical day, the complainant went to Menuso city, raised an alarm, and a search celebration was fashioned to search for the convict and the motorcycle.
Throughout the search, the complainant’s motorcycle was present in a cocoa farm in Bogos Kope space, and the convict was traced and arrested on the Kadjebi principal lorry station.

ACP Kpodo added that the police carried out an identification parade, and the complainant recognized the convict because the assailant.
