Ghana’s Chef Smith is new Guinness World Record holder

Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith is the brand new Guinness World Document holder for the longest cooking marathon by a person.

He broke the report with 802 hours and 25 minutes.

Chef Smith introduced his achievement on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Chef Smith started his cook-a-thon journey on February 1 and ended his marathon on March 6.

Initially aiming for 1200 hours, he efficiently cooked for 820 hours.

He takes the report from Alan Fisher, who cooked for 119 hours in 2023.

This comes after one other Ghanaian chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak, was unsuccessful in her try to interrupt the world report.

Chef Failatu had supposed to beat the official 119-hour report set by Alan Fisher.

In January 2024, she spent 227 hours and a few minutes within the kitchen on the Trendy Metropolis Lodge in Tamale.

Nevertheless, a press release issued by her coordinator, broadcaster Kafui Dey, revealed that her try didn’t meet among the stringent pointers of the Guinness World Data (GWR).
