Mahama, Bawumia to file presidential nominations today


Two main presidential candidates, have revealed their intention to file their nomination varieties for the 2024 presidential election in the present day, Monday, September 9, 2024.

The 2 candidates are Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama and New Patriotic Social gathering (NPP) Flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

In a Fb publish, Mr Mahama mentioned “My nomination varieties as Presidential Candidate of the Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC), with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Vice Presidential Candidate, will likely be formally submitted to the Electoral Fee on Monday at 2.00 pm.

“The submission of the varieties by our Nationwide Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, represents a pivotal step in our marketing campaign for change on December 7. We’re all on this collectively, working with Ghanaians to RESET Ghana’s economic system and ‘Construct the Ghana we wish collectively’.”

A press release signed by the NPP Common Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong confirmed Dr Bawumia’s choice to file on Monday.

Dr. Bawumia will likely be accompanied by his working mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and different social gathering leaders.

After submitting his nomination, Dr. Bawumia is predicted to handle social gathering sympathizers and most of the people on the NPP’s nationwide headquarters at 9:00 am.

The NPP has invited social gathering members and most of the people to take part in what it describes as a “historic second of POSSIBILITY in Ghana’s Subsequent Chapter.

The upcoming elections in Ghana on the seventh of December are extremely important. This election carries excessive stakes because the ruling NPP, led by Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, goals to defy the custom of energy alternation between the NPP and the NDC each eight years.

Alternatively, the NDC, beneath the management of former President John Mahama, is making a robust comeback and is set to not face defeat for the third time after losses within the 2016 and 2020 elections to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
