The management of the Schools of Schooling Lecturers Affiliation of Ghana (CETAG) has acknowledged that its members won’t work past their mandated hours to get well misplaced hours as a result of strike which lasted over two months.
In an interview, the Nationwide President of CETAG, Prince Obeng-Himah, emphasised that whereas the affiliation is open to discussions on recovering misplaced time, the academics won’t comply with work past the standard class hours.
“A while in the past, when it occurred, we have been compelled to show as much as 9 pm, 10 pm, then we began instructing the next day at 5 am. We’re not ready to go alongside that tangent. We’ll educate usually.
“It was not by any fault of ours as a result of it’s on report that ours is the one authorized strike that Ghana has seen the place we now have gone on strike for 2 strong months and the Nationwide Labour Fee has not been capable of pronounce it unlawful.

CETAG formally referred to as off its strike on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, following profitable negotiations with the Nationwide Labour Fee (NLC) and the Truthful Wages and Salaries Fee (FWSC).
